"Trees" is the next chapter in Philipp Hagers alias Schwebens exploration of different surroundings and nature. With every new recording the project moves on in a different (sound) direction, inspired by the places and things which were tried to explore through sound. This time the subjects are trees and their relationship to time and life. On this release you can hear long microtonal drone pieces, field recordings and some synth Schabernack, always connected to the trees which were recorded. The most important thing you can learn from them is: Don´t take yourself too seriously. Things come and go. Enjoy the walk through.

Five slabs of minimalistic, motorik krautrock. The repetitiveness is key here. C2S feels like a sonic mantra, while C3A is more akin to an aural sculpture - the way the entire song morphs through different polyrhythms over a repetitive guitar motif is just incredible to listen to. This is my favourite zement release to date (2022). Its razor-sharp focus on propulsive krautrock is appreciated, all songs are bangers, and at 31 minutes, it doesn’t overstay its welcome.
